Miles for Marty
Earlier this year, our father, Marty Leigh, was unexpectedly diagnosed with a very aggressive duodenal sarcoma cancer. Given the rarity of this type of cancer, much of his time at the hospital was spent waiting for a diagnosis. After a brief three-month battle, he passed away surrounded by family and loved ones. Marty will be fondly remembered for his sense of humour, positive demeanour, and eternal optimism.
We are hosting a fundraiser to support the Canadian Cancer Society by organizing a team of friends and family to participate in the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront 5K. We hope to raise awareness and funds for cancer research in memory of our father. If you would like to join us for the run, the details are below and all are welcome to join!
When: October 21st, 2018 at 8 a.m.
What: Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront 5K
Your donation to our team will help provide hope to thousands of people affected by cancer. Your generosity will fund innovative research, provide vital support services to cancer patients, and help change lives.
Please also consider making a blood donation to the Canadian Blood Services. Our father received countless transfusions during his time in the hospital and was able to fight as long as he did through the generosity of these donors.
