TRADE MY HORSE’S SADDLE FOR A BIKE SADDLE
I can not be more proud of my family !
When I think that my family will cross Canada on their bicycle for the benefit of the Canadian Cancer Society for pancreatic research all the summer, just one word come in my mind : Incredible !!!
You are the best and I love you.
My father, what a generous man is he, always has his heart on his sleeve;
My mother, who have fought metastatic skin cancer three times. Without research drugs, she would not bite that way in life;
My two brothers and my sister who have experienced the worry of seeing their mother fighting against this damn disease, now happy to know her overflowing with health.
My family has been involved in so many activities for the last few years: Relay for Life in Rimouski, Challenge Défi Vélo-Plein-Air between Quebec City and Rimouski (300km-185 miles), Vélo-Tour of the Gaspésie (1000km-625 miles) and even the base camp of Everest for fighting against skin cancer.
This time, they are investing in pancreatic cancer research by creating the Coast To Cause Challenge !
What is it ?
It's actually crossing Canada on their bicycle, from Coast to coast for the cause of cancer.
From Vancouver to the Gaspé Peninsula. A 6000km (3750 miles) crossing where each member of my family commits to ride 4800 km (3000 miles) to raise funds for research against pancreatic cancer.
For our grandfather, Henri, our cousin, Raymond and the other 4800 people who died of pancreatic cancer last year in Canada.
Me, I have the opportunity to pass the summer in the USA, in a wonderful place, to learn more about the pleasure horse show industry. I have the chance to ride on my comfortable western saddle, but I will during a couple days trade it for my bike saddle to join them and to support them in their great crossing.
In this way, I will pedal more than 600 km (375 miles) with my family in four days during their ride in Northern Ontario ...
I could not abandon them. They are everything to me and I admire them.
We have a goal of $ 24,000.
