Cancer Fights Dirty, let's kick it into the mud !!!
As some of you know, I began my running journey a number of years ago so that I participate in the Run for the Cure in honour of my best friend Kimmy. She was an inspiration in all the lives she touched, and I was honoured and blessed to call her my friend, my family.
Kim lost her battle in May 2008, just six weeks after my daughter, her namesake, Madison Kimberley, was born. I’ve done a cancer run each year since she passed. In 2016 we also lost Kimmy's Daddy, Rob (a "Poppa” to Madison, “family” to me) and each year more friends, family, people we all know are battling.
It's been eleven years since she lost her fight, and as long as I'm able to walk/run/do this I want to continue to raise money for cancer research in the hopes that other families won’t have to lose their “Kimmy”, Poppa, sister, father.....
The last few years we’ve changes up the venue and event to a Canadian Cancer Society mud-run, and it’s been such an amazing and uplifting experience!!
Cancer continues to touch, impact and challenge the lives of other family and close friends for us all….we've lost too many, and others are currently fighting the fight -- and I want to fundraise and to get into the mud to fight dirty against ALL cancers. For other families out there battling the beast that is cancer, for those currently in its grip, let's kick cancer in the butt !!

Last Year we raised a personsal-best-record-setting $1955 for Cancer Research together, let’s see if we can out-do ourselves this year.
