A couple of years ago my (at the time 15 year old) daughter's best friend Aleksa lost her life to cancer. We all felt so helpless during her illness. I never could have known the trickle down effect this would have on many other lives since. It's great to hear about the drive her friends have in conducting events like this to raise awareness and research funding. It's also hard to hear the pain that some of them now struggle with in their daily lives. How could something like this happen? And now we ask, in her name, "how do we prevent this from happening again"? It starts with research. Research that requires funding. And every little bit helps. If you are able, please help our team reach and surpass our fund raising goal. Thank you.
With nearly 1 in 2 Canadians expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, I’m more determined than ever to help change the future of this disease. My family and friends could be affected. And that makes it personal.
Please help me reach my fund raising goal. No matter how much you donate, every dollar goes a long way. A donation of $25, $50 or $100 could help ensure a team of researchers has the resources they need to make a life-changing discovery, or a patient has access to support services when they need it most.
We're so excited to have your school join the Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life! Once you submit this form, we'll get in touch to provide you with more information about hosting Relay at your school.
