Nearly 1 in 2 Canadians are expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. That means half of our family and friends will hear the words “you have cancer” at some point in their lives.
My family has had it’s share. We’ve had happy endings which include my dad beating bladder cancer years ago and my sister winning her battle against colon cancer in 2017; however, 2017 also brought sadness when at the beginning of June my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and in just a little under 3 weeks she lost her battle. Later in the fall we also had to say goodbye to our beloved cat Umbro who lost his battle with cancer.
This will be my 11th year participating in the Relay for Life. Please join me in taking action to help create a world where no one has to fear this disease.
I hope you’ll show your support, and help me reach my fundraising goal. Cancer changes everything. So can you.
