This will mark my 2nd year participating in the Wellington County Relay For Life (and I’m not even 2 years old yet)!
This year I am relaying for someone very special to me. On April 7th my nana lost her battle with pancreatic cancer.
4 days after my 1st birthday, my nana was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. 4 days after her diagnosis she went to the hospital with a pain in her leg and never came home. My nana lost her battle only 45 days after her diagnosis.
My nana will never get to be at my 2nd birthday, see me when u lose my first tooth, be there for my first day of school,
or help me learn to ride a bike.
I will miss my nana every single day.
Nearly 1 in 2 Canadians are expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. That means half of our family and friends will hear the words “you have cancer” at some point in their lives.
Join me in taking action to help create a world where no Canadian has to fear this disease.
I’m determined to make a difference by participating in the Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life. This is a nationwide event that brings people together to celebrate survivors, honour those we’ve lost and show that no one has to face cancer alone. By making a donation, you can help fund Canada’s most promising research, vital support services for patients and their families, and other important work that could change the future of cancer.
I hope you’ll show your support, and help me reach my fundraising goal or join us at the Relay For Life in June 14th where we will remember and honour my nana and all the other loved ones we have lost because of cancer.
Cancer changes everything. So can you.
