Welcome to My Fundraising Page!
Last year I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma in my left breast. I underwent a mastectomy and a DIEP flap reconstruction and at 6:00 pm on Monday, July 16, 2018, BOOMY (my booby made from my tummy) was born. I had a very fortunate outcome, and I am forever grateful to my family, friends, colleagues and medical team who have supported me throughout this journey. Breast cancer was a wake up call to me to take better care of my health - physical, mental and emotional - and to cherish the many, many good folks around me. It also made me determined to participate in this year's CIBC Run for the Cure and to raise funds for the important work of the Canadian Cancer Society. I have been training since last Fall for this run (running was a new thing for me) and am so excited that Amy, Christina, Katrina, Kelsey, Nikki and Tina will be joining me on October 6th. I am committed to standing solidly beside others affected by breast cancer. Thank you for supporting TEAM BOOMY and the Canadian Cancer Society in finding a cure.
