Welcome to My Personal Page
Three years into semi-retirement and I have a new job working for an optometrist here in Burlington. Takes me 8 minutes to walk to work. Life is good.
Speaking of walking, I am still walking in the CIBC Run for the Cure and am looking for donations for this cause. To make an on-line donation, Click the pink bar "Donate"
The Run will take place across Canada on Sunday, October 6, 2019, and I am participating in the Burlington/Hamilton/Oakville site.
As many of you already know Breast Cancer is a very big threat to many women and men in our lives and 31 years ago this November my family lost our mother, Jereen (Regan) Lynett to this disease. But on a positive note, I am happy to say I have witnessed many wonderful friends survive and truly believe this is because of the generosity of my family and friends. "Thank you" for your support both emotional and/or financial, it touches me very deeply.
Since the CBCF allowed participants to register on-line my family and friends have donated $31,091.56:
- $1,050 in 2005
- $1,120 in 2006
- $1,335 in 2007
- $1,010 in 2008
- $1,500 in 2009
- $1,790 in 2010
- $2,750 in 2011, it is amazing what turning 50 does for fundraising
- $2,350 in 2012
- $2,640 in 2013, at 52 my family and friend overwhelmed me with their commitment to the Run
- $2,935 in 2014, wow what can I say
- $3,410 in 2015, This is more than WOW
- $3,410 in 2016, amazing
- $3,853.06 in 2017, INCREDIBLE and I received the 2nd Top Fundraising award for the BHO run site
- $3.138.50 in 2018, I am still in awe of your generosity
I know it is not possible for everyone to make a donation to every charity that comes along, but if this is one you support here is an opportunity to make your donation on-line.
Or if you prefer, you can make a donation with cash or a cheque by giving it or mailing it to me and I will add your name to the list.
I am always grateful for any support you can give and if your donation limited has been reach, then a prayer for the cure would always be helpfully. OR you can sign up as a New Volunteer in your community, there are always lots of volunteer positions that need to be filled and your time would be greatly appreciated on Sunday, October 6, 2019.
Have a great day and thank you.
