Welcome to My Fundraising Page!
On October 23 of last year, I had a double mastectomy to reduce my crazy-high risk of breast cancer due to my BRCA2 genetic mutation. My mom took the photo of me on the left after I woke up in the recovery room, smiling with overwhelming relief (and the buzz of narcotic painkillers). I love this photo because it reminds me why I made this difficult decision. My grandma is a three-time breast cancer survivor, and her sister (my great-aunt Alice) died of breast cancer. I didn't want to live in fear.
This October, I am running for all the other grandmothers, mothers, partners, sisters, and friends who are battling, living with, or surviving breast cancer.
Please contribute what you can to help me achieve my fundraising goal. Every dollar makes a difference. Your donation will fund ground-breaking research to help save the lives of more Canadians and provide support programs for people affected by breast cancer.
Did you know that just $100 could fund two hours of life-saving research in a world class laboratory? Your contribution could lead to the next breakthrough!
Together, we can change the future of breast cancer.
Thanks in advance for your support!
