Many Colors Of Courage
Every day, 70 Canadians will hear the words “you have breast cancer.”
We are the Many Colors of Courage Team.
Many Colors of Courage Cancer Support Group began in September, 2018. One of our captains, Teresa Tracy, faced the devastating news that she had breast cancer, and went seeking local emotional support in her home town of Airdrie, Alberta. Finding none specific to her needs, Teresa decided to start her own group.
She became a Canadian Cancer Society Facilitator and invited some of the connections she had made through her diagnosis to meet with her to support each other through that very difficult time. Many Colors of Courage Cancer Support Group is the only group of its kind in Airdrie. Previously, cancer patients and survivors would have had to travel to Calgary to attend support group meetings.
Many Colors meets every third Wednesday of the month at WH Croxford High School in Airdrie from 7-8:30pm. The group is open to women who are going through any type of cancer, at any stage of diagnosis, through treatment and beyond. We are raising awareness of this group by getting together to run in the 2019 CIBC Run for the Cure. We hope you can join us!
Please contribute what you can to our fundraising. Every dollar makes a difference. Your donation will fund ground-breaking research to help save the lives of more Canadians and provide support programs for people affected by breast cancer.
