Kelly's Front Runners
Every day, 70 Canadians will hear the words “you have breast cancer.” While these Canadians are living longer, healthier lives after a breast cancer diagnosis, there is still so much work to be done.
Sunday, October 6, 2019, will be my team's 8th year participating in the Run for the Cure. It will also be 8 years since my own breast cancer diagnosis. Consequently, Run day brings with it an anxious reminder of worry and dread but it also offers hope and optimism for the future.
The theme of this year’s run is “We Promise to change the future of breast cancer”. Having had the opportunity to observe the panel of experts debate applications for research funding targeted at breast cancer, and listen to doctors and researchers talk about the progress they are making, I am convinced that through our fundraising efforts we truly are CHANGE MAKERS.
So on Sunday, October 6th, we will once again lace up to raise money for this worthy cause.
Please help me to raise money in support of the Canadian Cancer Society for improved screening, treatment, and quality of life and most importantly to make breast cancer history.
Together, we can change the future of breast cancer.
Thanks in advance for your support!
