More than 2 million women and men were diagnosed with breast cancer last year around the world, that’s one case diagnosed every 15 seconds.
In 2010 Mom, Jenna and I participated in our first CIBC Run for the Cure together with Dad and Myah waiting at the finish line to cheer us on. After completing the walk and being inspired by all the fighters, survivors and supporters it became mom's goal to enter a team the following year. Unfortunately mom lost her battle to breast cancer a week before the run in 2011, but we were committed to carrying out her legacy and formed our team, the Double D’s. I have continued to enter a team in the run almost every year since and with the support of family and friends have walked/ran in moms honour, in hopes of creating a future where pink is just a colour and we no longer have to fear the words “Breast Cancer.” This year we have entered the team in both REGINA and CALGARY and would love it if you would join us (running is optional, you are more than welcome to walk!) on October 6 and help us to continue what mom started. Thank you in advance for your support.
Together, we can change the future of breast cancer.
