This year, Lechon and I are partnering up in Bark For Life at Trinity Bellwoods Park to support the mission of the Canadian Cancer Society on Saturday, September 20th at Trinity Bellwoods Park. Check out the Bark for Life home page to see our popular poster children! This pic was taken from the Bark for Life walk a couple of years ago! And Lechon was chosen as the poster boy for last year's event!
Our whole family, the Ortilla's, get to combine two things that we value the most...spending quality time with our pets outdoors while fighting for a good cause. Since this is a dog event, let me give you some background info on my hunk of a partner, Lechon Baboy. He was born on July 6th, 2007. He is a bulldog that loves long walks on the beach...but expect to have a hard time getting him out of the water. He may be a bully but believes he can be any breed he likes if he puts his heart to it. He swims like a Lab and plays fetch like a Retriever. Ask him to crawl or play dead and he will do it with pleasure but with a fee of course.
The money raised from this event helps fund leading-edge cancer research that is improving cancer treatments, preventing cancer and saving lives; provide reliable and up-to-date information on cancer, risk reduction and treatment; offer vital community-based support services for people living with cancer and their families; and advocate for healthy public policies.
Please pledge us and help us reach my fundraising goal! Every pledge takes us one step further in the fight against cancer. Online pledging is secure and it saves the Canadian Cancer Society money by reducing administrative costs.
Please note that the walk is just around the corner so any donations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for all your love and support!
