I RAN FOR BIG MONEY - NOW I AM RUNNING FOR LIFE
Greetings! Thank you for supporting us in our fundraising efforts.
My name is O Yo and I am a retired racing Greyhound. I came off the track when I was 4, and was adoped into a loving family here in Ottawa. I turned five this past July. Although most of us love our retirement, I am a "doer" and at the end of September I am going for my final exam to be a Registered Therapy Dog - I think everybody needs a wee nuzzle now and then.
If you watch my video to the right- which was the last race of my illustrious career - cheer on the Yellow Silk #6 - that's me! I can reach my top speed of 66KM/hr by the time I hit my 3rd stride and can sustain this speed for 1.2KM - which means that I can run the 100M Dash in 2.58 seconds!!
We are participating in BARK FOR LIFE to support the mission of the Canadian Cancer Society.
Mummy and I are participating to give a big shout out to our Danielle, who has been fighting this insidious disease for seven years, and we are very proud to call her a friend.
The money raised from this event helps fund leading-edge cancer research that is improving cancer treatments, preventing cancer and saving lives; provide reliable and up-to-date information on cancer, risk reduction and treatment; offer vital community-based support services for people living with cancer and their families; and advocate for healthy public policies.
Please pledge me and help me reach my fundraising goal! Every pledge takes us one step further in the fight against cancer. Online pledging is secure and it saves the Canadian Cancer Society money by reducing administrative costs.
Thanks for your support!
