Welcome to My Personal Page
The Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend is in less than 2 weeks!
I don't plan to race (Lol); but, I would like to walk the 2K on Saturday, May 25th at 3:00 p.m. It looks like a great walk (for children & families) starting at Cooper & Cartier downtown, continuing to the canal and ending up on Queen Elizabeth. Who knows, we may be blessed with sunshine by then...
The registration at this point is up to $40.00 ($50.50 with tax). If anyone is interested in joining my team, VIVIAN'S Kittens, we will be raising funds for the Canadian Cancer Society. Most of us have had family, friends and colleagues affected by this dreadful disease.
I chose the name VIVIAN'S Kittens in memory of our sweet Vivian McAlpine, an Educational Assistant for many years at Centennial Public School, who had a passion for cats! It seems we had no closure when she passed last September & wasn't she a loving colleague / friend often spoiling us with her fabulous desserts (that she would usually make before work no less)! I can still recollect Vivian calling a student "Lammie" (for Lambchops). Another student who had trouble saying Vivian called her "Billion"! lol
In my own family, cancer has taken its toll! My own uncle Camille passed away just 3 weeks ago from this devastating disease. When I saw him at his sister's funeral (also died of cancer) 2 years ago in Rouyn-Noranda, he hadn't let on to anyone about his diagnosis (except to his own family members). He seemed to be in such good spirits as usual. This is the 4th family member on my Dad's side to suffer with this disease.
Let's fight this disease together!
Your support is greatly appreciated!
Silver Daffodil Badges are awarded when a participant raises $300 in the fight against cancer.
