I met Jaclyn Van Esbroeck as a Daycare Mom. Dustin and Jaclyn's daughter, Annabelle, went to the same daycare and were besties. That's how Jaclyn and I became friends.
Jaclyn is battling Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. She is a 34 year old wife and mother of two young children, aged 4 and 1. She was originally diagnosed with Stage 3 in October of 2014, shortly after giving birth to her son. She went through chemo treatments, surgery and radiation. Six weeks after radiation she found out the cancer had spread and was diagnosed with Stage 4.
With stage 4 metastatic breast cancer she cannot be cured. She will battle this beast till the day she dies, hoping every moment everyday for more time.
1 in 9 Canadian women will get breast cancer in their lifetime.
That’s why on Saturday, October 31rst, our team will be participating in the 2015 Zombie Thrill Run in Pembroke. The money our team raises will help the Canadian Cancer Society fight breast cancer, which is where Jaclyn's cancer started.
We are all in this together. Despite our successes, 67 women are still being diagnosed with breast cancer in Canada every day. Mothers, daughters, fathers, brothers, caregivers and friends; we will all be touched by breast cancer in our lifetime.
So please support our team and donate today. Help us reach our fundraising goal!
Together, we can help to create a future without breast cancer.
