Scott Trapp Stick-it To Cancer Memorial Tournament
The Scott Trapp Stick-it To Cancer Memorial Tournament is an annual charity ball hockey tournament that is to be held on Saturday March 18, 2017. It was established by the Delta Kappa Epsilon (DKE) Phi Alpha Fraternity at the University of British Columbia in 2012. Named in honour of Brother Scott Trapp, a Phi Alpha DKE member who lost his courageous battle with cancer in December of 2014, the tournament invites 30+ teams of men and women from across Vancouver to help raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society.
Our Goal is to raise awareness and funds for the Canadian Cancer Society through involvement and collaboration with our local community. In 2017, Stick-it to Cancer aims to raise $35,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society.
In 2012, the Stick-it To Cancer Ball Hockey Tournament was inaugurated, with 10 teams invited to help raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society. After raising $5,000 in 2012, we surpassed that amount in each of the next four years, for a total of over $100,000 to date.
- 2012: $5,000
- 2013: $7,006
- 2014: $26,111
- 2015: $37,176
- 2016: $34,045
Our success as one of Canada’s largest independent Canadian Cancer Society fundraisers can be attributed to combined contributions from corporate sponsors and donors, the generosity of personal donations from friends and family members of Phi Alpha DKEs, as well as donations from the local community at large.
