Registration for fundraising for the 2017 Manitoba School Dragon Boat Challenge is on now!

The Canadian Cancer Society Manitoba School Dragon Boat Challenge is a fundraising event to help Manitobans who are fighting cancer. It takes place June 4th, 2017 at the Manitoba Canoe & Kayak Club, at 80 Churchill Dr., in Winnipeg. Please note that this is a change of venue, the festival was originally to be located at the MB Waterski & Wakeboard Park (a.k.a. Lake Shirley), but had to be changed due to technical difficulties at Lake Shirley.

It’s a super fun way of raising money to fight cancer in Manitoba! Once your team has registered for the event with the MPA your Team Captain, Principal or Team Fundraising Coordinator can register your team on this site for online fundraising.

The money raised helps Manitobans and their families who are on a cancer journey through cutting edge research, clinical trials and vital community based service and support programs.

Last year the festival drew more than 1100 participants from 50 teams and raised vital funds to support Manitobans (and their families) who are fighting cancer through cutting edge research, clinical trials and vital service and support programs.

This year, we will again honour the Top 8 fundraising teams with a special recognition race, plus bursaries for the Top 3 Fundraising Teams (most money raised). The Top Fundraising Team will receive a $2,000 bursary (toward a school approved activity), the 2nd Top Fundraising Team will receive a $1,000 bursary and the 3rd Top Team a $500 bursary (all to be used on a school approved activity). The fastest three teams in the Top 8 "Fundraising Race of Champions" will each win a trophy.

The three Top Individual Fundraisers will be recognized as well, and will receive gift certificates for the Apple store.
