CFD'S Record-Breaking Head Shave

We hope you like your new 'do!

Thank you for your overwhelming support of the Calgary Fire Department's Record-Breaking Head Shave. The application is in — and we are waiting on word from Guinness. Check back soon for updates on the application!

Before-and-after head shots are now available online. Check out all the action from the event and download your photos here.

We are still accepting online donations to the event to help change cancer from something Canadians fear to something we live well beyond or never get in the first place.

For other ways to get involved in the fight for life, please visit or consider joining Relay For Life.

Don't miss your chance to be a record breaker — join the CFD and friends in a head shave for cancer research.

CFD is partnering with the Canadian Cancer Society in an attempt to break the Guinness Book of World Record for most heads shaved simultaneously. We need 268 people to break the current record.

Cancer is a disease that hits close to home for so many firefighters, who are exposed to potentially harmful carcinogens as part of their daily duties. By supporting this event, you are supporting research that may make a tangible difference in their lives.

Anyone can take part. If you're afraid of baring it all from the neck up, the Canadian Cancer Society will lend you a wig until your hair grows back. We need the numbers, but if you’re not into the bald look, you can take part by sponsoring someone else.
