Welcome to my Team Page!
I’d like to start by saying thank you for being here; for navigating to my fundraising page however you came to get here.
My name is Alexandria and I am a firefighter with CFB Esquimalt Fire Department. I am immensely proud to be representing the department this year as a 2019 Tour de Rock rider particularly because it supports such an incredibly compassionate cause.
I grew up here on Vancouver Island out on the Saanich Peninsula. In kindergarten a young boy I was in school with was diagnosed with paediatric cancer. He survived and his story has stuck with me for a long time.
Though my journey with Tour de Rock has just begun, I am already inspired by the sense of community and family that rallies around these kids and their families fighting this horrifying battle.
The strength and resiliency these families demonstrate while supporting their critically ill children is something I truly admire and can’t even begin to comprehend. The hope, and I speak on behalf of my team, is that this ride will cease to exist one day as a result of raising enough funds to win the fight against cancer.
Something I can comprehend is the ability to ride a bicycle. I will be riding 1,100kms with 20 team mates on September 21, 2019 – October 4, 2019. We will be riding the entire length of Vancouver Island and I could NOT be more honored or excited to be riding with such a compassionate group of individuals.
Though this challenge is incomparable to the challenges these families face, I ask you to support the cause and assist me in meet my fundraising goal of $25,000. Let’s conquer cancer together.
Any denomination helps and is HUGELY appreciated.
I thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart.
