Hardeep KANG was born and raised in the Region of Peel. From an early age, Hardeep aspired to become a police officer. He attended Sir Wilfred Laurier University and majored in Criminology setting his sights to one day become a member of the Peel Regional Police. On September 1st, 2010, through his hard work and dedication Hardeep's career ambitions were realized when he was sworn in as a Peel Regional Police Constable. His first assignment was to 12 Division "I" platoon as a uniform patrol officer. Hardeep participated in several different charitable functions supported by the organization including Special Olympics - Torch Run, Backpack for Kids Campaign, and Toys for Tots Campaign.
In October 2011, at age 23, Hardeep was diagnosed with cancer. When he returned from his medical leave he turned down the offer of an administrative function, choosing to work alongside his platoon mates in uniform patrol. His courage, loyalty and work ethic while fighting cancer was inspirational to everyone he came into contact with. Sadly, on May 18th, 2013 Constable Hardeep KANG lost his battle with cancer. He will be missed by his brothers and sisters at 12 Division "I" Platoon and by the entire Peel Regional Police family. He will continue to be an inspiration to all of us.
He is survived by his mother, father and younger brother. Hardeep's family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Peel Police, Cops for Cancer through this donation site.
