My Cancer Journey

My Cancer Journey
My Cancer Journey

Newly diagnosed patient

I went for a biopsy in August and by end of September I was diagnosed with Cervical cancer. What a shock....I really didn't know what to expect...over the next few months I travelled to Hamilton to see several doctors and specialists that would be working with me my through my cancer journey.

I started my treatments in November not knowing what to expect...my doctors and nurses were there by my side as well as the radiation therapists....everyone was sooo supportive...as well as my drivers...they are all angels in my book. I met many wonderful people including those who rode down to Hamilton for various cancer treatments of their own.

I am now done my treatments...but now I look back...and realise just how life changing this was. I know my journey is partially over...but still have many years to go with seeing doctors..and making sure the cancer does not return.

If I can say one thing...if it wasn't for the doctors...nurses...support staff at the cancer society and drivers I don't know what I would do my family...and I all thank you for all you have done for us.
