3 time Cancer Survivor

I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease at the age of 14.I went through various treaments of chemotherapy and radiation. At age 18 I was diagnosed with Schwanoma (cancer of the lining of the nerve)caused from too much radiation, then age 26,thryroid Cancer

I was 14 when I was first diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease, woke up one morning and I had a lump on my neck. I was given radiation and chemotherapy treatments. They had taken a biopsy of the lump and figured out that I was in the 3rd stage of HD, and my spleen had to be removed as it was full of cancer. That explained why I was so tired all the time.At age 18, I was then diagnosed with Schwanoma (cancer of the lining of the nerve) caused from too much dosage of radiation. I refused chemotherapy and radiation treatments at this time as they only gave me 50/50 chance, and I felt at the age of 18 that was not good enough, I was fighting this cancer no matter what. My radiologist told me at the age of 14 he guaranteed me that I would come down with another form of cancer within 10 years, it was then 4 years. At the age of 26 I was then diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer, in which I had the operation and had my thyroid taken out.I am on synthroid pills for the rest of my life, but it's better then being sick.so it's been 28 years and I have been in remission with HD, 24 years in remission with Schwanoma and 16 years for Thyroid. I'd say I am doing pretty good.I am a fighter and I will fight the fight.
